Nurture
We start with the person, not the CV.
Before a skill can grow, a young person has to believe they're allowed to want it. That belief is the first thing we build, and the reason our alumni keep their mentor long after the cohort ends.
About NuGenNext
Creating pathways for Tanzanian youth.
NuGenNext is a youth empowerment group based in Dar es Salaam, created to help teenagers build real-world skills for life, work, and leadership.
Through events, camps, and hands-on workshops, we give young people space to learn practical skills coding, business, financial literacy, public speaking, teamwork, and leadership. The goal is simple: prepare today’s youth with the confidence, tools, and mindset they need to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Opportunity
should travel.
01 — What the words mean
They aren’t a slogan. They’re the sequence every cohort actually moves through, and you can’t skip one.

We start with the person, not the CV.
Before a skill can grow, a young person has to believe they're allowed to want it. That belief is the first thing we build, and the reason our alumni keep their mentor long after the cohort ends.

You cannot be what you have never seen.
So we put young Tanzanians in front of people who did it here, founders, engineers, organisers, and let them ask the awkward questions. Not a keynote. A conversation they get to interrupt.

Then we hand over the room.
Every cohort ends with participants running something real, a project, a pitch, a fix their community actually needed. Leading isn't taught in a slide. It's practised, in front of people, with a mentor beside you.
02 — Mission & vision
Our mission
To create lasting impact by nurturing the next generation of changemakers.
We are dedicated to empowering Tanzanian youth through innovative education programmes, mentorship, and leadership development, focusing on the essential skills in technology, entrepreneurship, and creative arts that prepare young minds for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
Our vision
A Tanzania where a young person’s postcode never decides how far they get.
Talent already reaches every corner of this country. We want opportunity to travel just as far, until every young Tanzanian with an idea has a path to walk, a mentor to call, and a room that opens.

03 — What you’ll learn
The things that quietly decide how far a teenager gets, and almost none of them are on a syllabus. You learn them here by doing them.
Come in knowing how to use a phone. Leave knowing how to build what runs on it.
How an idea turns into something people will actually pay for.
Earning, saving, budgeting, and keeping money once it arrives.
Say it so a room hears you, even when your voice is shaking.
Build something with people who do not think like you.
Take the room when it is your turn to take it.
04 — What we run
Four programmes, all free, all in Dar es Salaam. Tap through them, they’re different doors into the same room.
MeetupThe tech, and the people behind it, telling you how they actually got there.
Part workshop, part storytelling. Teenagers explore technology, creativity, and entrepreneurship, then hear from people building their own path, false starts and money problems included. Not a keynote. A conversation you get to interrupt.
Sign up to hear about upcoming workshops, camps, youth summits, and skill-building programmes in Dar es Salaam.
Free, and always will be.
05 — What we hold to

Opportunity isn't. Closing that gap is the entire job. There is no second agenda.
Programmes are designed with the young people who take them. They tell us what's missing; we build it.
Every cohort ends in something you can point at. A portfolio beats a certificate.
The programme ends. The mentor, the network, and the first call on placements don't.
06 — Who we work with
Schools open their rooms. Companies open their doors for site visits and placements. Funders cover the scholarships that keep a cohort free. Every logo here is a door a young Tanzanian walked through.

07 — The team
Small team, long memory. Most of them still know the name of every young person in the first cohort.

Sets the direction of every cohort and keeps NuGenNext answerable to the young people it exists for.

Helped start NuGenNext and shapes how each programme is built with its participants rather than for them.

Looks after the money and the people, so every shilling reaches a cohort and every volunteer is supported.

Makes sure every programme is reachable, so no young person is left out by how a room, a tool, or a session is designed.
Mentor a cohort, open a door at your company, or fund a scholarship. Every route ends in the same place: a young Tanzanian with options.
